Rhode Island Feeds

emPower Brown works to advance sustainable living and environmentalism. They focus on Climate and energy, and they have a special project called Beyond the Bottle.

Rhode Islanders are discovering RSS feeds, and/or they are increasingly using blogs, Twitter, and other social media that create feeds. The Providential Gardener is aggregating RI-related feeds into these categories:

• RI General Environmental News
• RI Nature ~ Outdoors
• RI Trees & Forests
• What Grows On in RI News Blog

The above feeds automatically go to Twitter at twitter.com/provgardener.

Thursday, July 16, added the RI Food Bank Twitter Feed to the RI Food Category, and Greater City: Providence to the General RI News and Views Category.

As of today, there are about 30 feeds aggregating in RI Feeds. Most of them are environment related, and some of them are coming from Twitter.

The original feeds include PostCarbon RI, Sustainable Sakonnet, Natural News, and Providential Gardener.

New today is the RIRRC Twitter Feed.

Because sometimes nonenvironmental feeds have environment-related stories, I began aggregating these:

• RI Future
• Prosperity for RI
• WRNI

RI Feeds aggregates RSS-enabled blogs, websites, Twitter accounts, and other similar news sources that focus on Rhode Island. It begins life with the environmental blogs, and is adding a few feeds and new features weekly, growing organically. It's still just at the cotyledon stage. Suggestions for additions to the feeds categorized here are welcome!
